Stylin’ Dogs is committed to providing a premium, safe, and positive grooming experience for every dog. Our salon is designed for comfort, fun, and expert care, while prioritizing the health, safety, and well-being of all pets in our care.
These Terms & Conditions outline our policies, procedures, and your responsibilities as a client. They are designed to ensure every dog receives the best possible grooming experience in a safe and enjoyable environment. By booking with Stylin’ Dogs, you agree to these terms.
1. Code of Conduct, Ethics & Safety
Stylin’ Dogs operates with integrity, respect, responsibility, fairness, compassion, courage, and wisdom. The safety of dogs, clients, and staff is our top priority. All clients and their pets are expected to comply with salon rules, ethical behaviour, and our code of conduct.
2. Client & Pet Information
2.1 Vaccinations
For the safety of all dogs in our care, Stylin’ Dogs only accepts fully vaccinated dogs.
2.2 Health & Behaviour Disclosure
Owners must advise Stylin’ Dogs of:
- Aggression during grooming or dog-reactive behaviour
- Untrained behaviour or any behavioural issues
- Need for muzzles, restraints, or additional handling
Stylin’ Dogs may:
- Assign extra groomers
- Use muzzles or restraints
- Cease grooming if a dog poses a risk
- Recommend alternative grooming arrangements
Extra care fees may apply. Owners may be liable under the Domestic Animals Act 1994 (VIC) if injuries occur due to nondisclosure of relevant information.
2.3 Client Records
Owners must provide:
- Client and pet forms
- Health and vaccination records
- History of grooming, trauma, sedation, or medical conditions
Stylin’ Dogs will:
- Make every effort to complete grooming safely
- Cease service if the dog is extremely agitated or at risk
- Recommend quieter grooming options if necessary
Senior Dog Guidelines:
- Small/Medium breeds: 7 years+
- Large breeds: 5 years+
2.4 Consent for Photography
Owners consent to photography and video for promotional purposes unless they request otherwise.
3. Owner Responsibilities
3.1 Health & Safety
Owners must ensure their dog is:
- Free from contagious illnesses, fleas, or ticks
- Healthy enough for grooming
- Disclosed for any special needs, senior conditions, or medications
3.2 Behaviour & Liability
- Full disclosure of aggression or medical issues is required
- Owners are liable for injury to staff or other dogs if information is withheld
- Owners must ensure dogs are leashed at all times in the salon
4. Policies & Procedures
4.1 Booking Appointments
- Appointments are pending until client forms, photos, deposits, or credit card details are provided
- Stylin’ Dogs may adjust service time based on breed, coat, behaviour, and groom complexity
- Booking methods: online, in-person, or over the phone
4.2 Confirmations & Reminders
- Confirmations sent via email include appointment details and cancellation/reschedule link
- Courtesy reminders:
- 1 week prior via email
- 2 days prior via SMS
4.3 Rescheduling
Reschedule if your dog is sick, in season, pregnant, weaning, or recovering from surgery.
4.4 Cancellation & Late Policy
- Cancellations: ≥24 hours or by 10am the day prior avoids fees
- Late cancellations: 50% service fee
- Same-day cancellations: full-service fee
- Late arrivals (>15 mins): may incur full fee and $1 per minute late
- No-shows: full-service fee applies
- Credit card details securely stored for automatic fees
5. Drop Off & Pick Up
5.1 Drop Off
- Leash required at all times
- Arrive 10–15 minutes early to allow toileting and check-in
5.2 Late Drop Off / Pick Up
- Notify the salon if late
- Appointments may be adjusted or cancelled if more than 15 minutes late
- Extra day stay fee: $35 for exceeding allocated time by 60 minutes
6. Payment Terms
- Prices are estimates; final price depends on coat condition, behaviour, and requested style
- GST inclusive
- Credit card surcharge may apply
- Payment due on pick-up: cash, credit/debit, or pre-approved bank transfer
- Promotions valid only under advertised terms
- Puppy Packages: pre-paid, schedule adherence required, no refunds for complete disruption
7. Grooming Services & Special Conditions
7.1 Matting & De-Matting
- Owners must advise of matting before booking
- Minor mats brushed/scissored; deeply matted coats may require shaving
- Extra time/costs apply
7.2 Senior, Special Needs, or Medically Unfit Dogs
- Dogs with serious medical conditions or advanced age may require slower grooming or may be declined
- Stylin’ Dogs does not undertake “end-of-life” grooms
7.3 Dangerous or Aggressive Dogs
- Must disclose biting or aggression history
- Muzzles may be used for safety
- Aggressive dog handling fee applies
7.4 Grooming Completion & Satisfaction
- Communicate desired groom clearly
- Report any concerns on the same day for free correction within 48 hours
- Stylin’ Dogs may cease grooming if safety is compromised
- Restyling or satisfaction adjustments after 48 hours may require full-service fee
8. Safety & Liability
- Stylin’ Dogs is not liable for injuries caused by unpredictable dog behaviour
- Vet bills only reimbursed if pre-approved
- Female dogs in season, pregnant, or weaning cannot be groomed
- Sick dogs, dogs with fleas/ticks, or open wounds must reschedule
- Owners liable for injuries or damages caused by undisclosed behaviour or medical conditions
8.1 Medical Release
- Stylin’ Dogs may seek veterinary care in emergencies at owner’s expense
- Owners will be notified once treatment is secured
9. Privacy & Information Collection
- Client information used for appointment management and promotions
- Not shared with third parties except for booking system operations
- Clients may opt out of marketing communications at any time
10. Code of Conduct
- Zero tolerance for abuse of staff
- Disrespectful clients may have future bookings declined
11. Fee Changes
- Stylin’ Dogs may adjust fees periodically
- Clients will be notified via email or SMS
12. Customer Agreement
I, the undersigned, have read and understood the terms above. I:
- Consent to photo/video usage unless otherwise requested
- Accept all risks related to grooming, health, and behaviour
- Indemnify Stylin’ Dogs, its owners, and staff from claims due to injury, property damage, or health complications
